Sharing is Caring

“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”

Interact Club of IPWS, recently organised a "Winter Clothes Donation Drive" in collaboration with Hindustan Times. Our students generously contributed the   woollens for the impoverished and the lesser children of God.

The mere thought of helping others in need, especially in winter season made them do so. This small deed of charity gave our students immense contentment and satisfaction, as we believe in the Service to Humanity above Self. And proved the adage "It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."

Green Ambassadors of Indraprastha at Work

Indraprastha WORLD SCHOOL in association with MV Speaker of the Year and Fever 104 organised a “Tree Plantation” drive at Uday Upvan in Noida on October 13, 2018 to provide green cover to the planet. 41 students of class VIII along with five teachers participated in the drive and excitedly planted the saplings which they had been given before the summer holidays.

The students nurtured these saplings for five months at home and finally planted them in the open field and contributed towards the environment. The drive was enjoyed by all the students. They also met Swami Prem Parivartan, fondly known as Peepal Baba, who has dedicated his life to trees and works relentlessly to increase the green cover of the country. It was a great learning experience for all the students as they were sensitized towards their environment.

A Noble Initiative to Rebuild Kerala

“True charity is the desire to be useful to others with no thought of recompense.”

We, at Indraprastha strongly believe that the power of human empathy, leading to collective action, saves lives. Inculcating the values of generosity, sharing, kindness, self righteousness, humility, generosity and being sensitive towards the community are our prime concern.

Keeping in sync with the same, the students were deeply moved by the catastrophe which took place due to unprecedented floods resulting into the substantial loss of life and resources.  Our students took the initiative to help the state and   the victims to get back to normal by collecting a handsome amount of Rs 5 Lakhs for them. The funds were transferred to the Chief Minister’s Kerala Relief Fund. With this hope that this generous contribution for the cause of our flood affected brethren of Kerala would greatly matter as  each drop of water matters for the ocean.

A Ray of Hope for the Blind

Indraprastha World School in association with the St Cedd’s School (U.K.) raised an amount of Rs 33,400/- as development fund for the blind school. It was the result of the joint efforts of the teachers and the students of both the school.

The students created interesting objects out of the recyclable waste material and put up an attractive exhibition of the same to generate the money.

The parents as well as the teachers were invited to please themselves with the purchase of these recyclable materials while helping for the noble cause. The school was able to sensitize the students as well as their families towards the idea of benevolence.

Indeed, it was a small step towards a large goal of serving the mankind with a human touch.

Social Initiative at IPWS

We need to teach our children empathy and care and love and communication and social responsibility in preparation for adulthood.

Young students of Montessori wing visited an orphanage Sewa Bharti Matri Chhaya on December 11, 2018. The inhabitants of the orphanage were the innocent children of 2 to 5 years only.

Students were deeply moved by the grim surroundings and the pathetic condition of the orphanage in which these lesser children of God were living. Our students interacted with them and narrated stories, played games, recited poems and made them feel happy by sharing eatables, goodies, stationary items and woollen clothes which brought smiles on each face.

Community Outreach Initiative by Students of Class XII

"We need to teach our children empathy and care and love and communication and social responsibility in preparation for adulthood.”

We, the students of Indraprastha World School strive on the path of social development of the society as a whole. To shower some light on the future of poor people the students of Interact Club visited a nearby slum area to initiate an awareness programme among the inhabitants of the locality. It  is said, ‘Every cloud has a silver lining.’ with this hope the students planned to assist and guide the people living in slum to raise their living standards by giving them guidance of how to make commodities from waste material and newspaper.

They showed a lot of interest. The women folk and kids expressed their interest and curiosity while making handcrafts material which they could sell and earn their means of livelihood.  Students distributed some decorative materials as samples. They were made to realize about their real potential by giving them a ray of hope to earn their livelihood. At the time of departure, the students distributed crayons and coloring books to the children present there. It was altogether an amazing interaction with all of them and an unforgettable experience
